Glasgow is a national centre for cancer research in the UK, combining the Institute of Cancer Sciences, CRUK Beatson Institute and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. Together, there are currently 51 research groups housed in magnificent new research buildings with excellent facilities for an expanded programme of translational cancer research in Glasgow. There is considerable strength in Pancreas, Colorecta, Leukaemia and Brain cancers. To date, most of the preclinical MRI research has focus on the study of glioblastomas.
